Google marks 23rd day of FIFA World Cup 2018 with doodle depicting football cultures of England and Croatia
On the occasion of the FIFA World Cup 2018 - Day 23, the internet search engine and technology giant Google has released the doodle on its website to celebrate the football cultures of England and Croatia who are going to play the second semi-final of the tournament today.

The doodle on the Croatia football culture shows ordinary people playing the game with lion masks. While the doodle on England’s culture shows people playing the game in red check shirts. On the top of the doodle, the logo is enclosed with the respective flags of the two countries.

The featured artists of today's doodle are Croatia's Vedran Klemens and England's Celyn Brazier. Google's website also posts the comments of the two artists to the question: What does football mean in your country?

Klemens's answer is: "It is Croatia's favourite pastime!" On the other hand, Brazier's answer is: "It is a quintessentially English national event that is tinged with excitement and frustration and tragedy in equal measure. At its best it represents people of many backgrounds and ethnicities coming together in dark, sweaty pubs while it is hot and sunny outside."

In the first semi-final, France became winners defeating Belgium by 1-0. The 2018 FIFA World Cup is the 21st FIFA World Cup which is currently being held in Russia. The tournament that started on 14th June will end with the final match on 15th July 2018.
